He loves the running game. He wants to teach it. The team's success at Florida convinced him it was the way to win in football. But what he had there, and what he doesn't have at BC, are the athletes to execute a running game. Except...when he came to BC, he first had Williams and then he had Murphy. And both could run, which convinced him he could run and be successful at BC. And his experience with both Tebow and Murphy further convinced him that he needed his QB to be a strong runner. And so we have Wade, Smith, etc. But what we don't have is a good passing QB. (I'm unconvinced so far that Wade is one.) And what we don't have this year is an OL that can protect a passer. So we are caught between a rock (Daz) and a hard place (a team with no passer and a weak OL).
What is the long-term prognosis for this team? Does anyone really know? Will the OL develop? Will we develop the receivers and find someone who can pass like Doug, like St. Pierre, Hasselbeck, and Ryan? Will Daz alter his philosophy? Alas, we won't know until next year.
