...Kiara Lum, BC '17, requested to the administration that she walk at graduation this year, even though she was a rising junior. In April, her mother was given 2-3 months to live, as she was dying from Stage 3 ovarian cancer. BC refused, with the reasoning only that "it was against our policy." And, as I'm sure many of you are parents, you'd probably want to see your kid walk at graduation if you were plagued with a terminal illness.
