Holmes proud of BC so far

Talk about it in The Eagles Nest
Normally you don't hear an uncommitted recruit being "proud" of a team win. But that's exactly the word C.J. Holmes used when he talked about Boston College early this season.
Holmes speaks very highly of BC.
Maybe it's because BC has shown more interest than any other school. Maybe it's because the coaches have given him more attention and he feels a sense of loyalty and maybe even a little attachment to the Eagles already.
Either way, it's tough to ignore the way Holmes talks about BC.
"I made it to their Maine game," Holmes told EagleAction.com. "I had a great time. It was a good atmosphere. I'm proud of the team. They got a good win. They had a good second half."
Holmes was not at the BC-Howard game but he said he's happy with how the team has started the season. He has now attended three Boston College games.
"I feel like they're strong," the 6-foot, 190-pound athlete from Cheshire Academy said. "They're definitely moving in the right direction. They're on their way. I didn't really see any deficiencies or kinks that they can't straighten out. Anything they can improve on, they worked out in the last game. I understood that and so did they, and they did it.
"I haven't felt negative at all about them. And in fact based off the USC game last year I'm predicting a win against Florida State," Holmes said.
More big talk.
BC has offered the three-star prospect and the coaches consider him a top recruiting priority. So when Holmes was at that game against Maine the coaches took some time away from their many game day responsibilities to touch base with Holmes.
"I talked to Coach (Frank) Leonard and Coach (Steve) Addazio personally," Holmes said. "They just talked about how they're excited to start heavily recruiting me and show me lots of love. They're just trying to get me on board.
"They've been sending me a lot of mail and I've been in contact with Coach Leonard," he said.
On the other hand, Holmes said most of the recruiting interest from other schools has been more of the generic type and less personalized.
Still, Holmes said he will try to make it to one or more games at Rutgers and a game at Maryland, too.
