The guys talked about BC football for 10 minutes or so--pretty cool to hear them talk about the program.
Their main take-aways:
Their main take-aways:
- They think Wade is going to be the starter and expect good possibly big things from him
- Said they think he's mobile but won't run as much as Murphy (duh)
- Rattled off pretty much every BC RB and said it's a really high quality stable of backs between Hilliman, Willis, Outlow, etc. Expected Daz to rotate them and use the hot hand, expects all of them to see game action and just go with whomever is having the better game.
- Called Sherman Alston one of the fastest guys in the ACC (and our only deep threat)
- Stated the rest of the WR's had good size (apparently didn't look at Thad) and should be good blockers for the run game.
- Said that Daz is really emphasizing the pass game this year and they don't expect it to be anywhere close to as unbalanced as it was this past season. We'll still be run-heavy but not rank-ordered #2 to GT.
- Both thought BC will be the "fly in the ointment" this year and brought up Clemson and specifically FSU. Both stated they weren't quite ready to call for the upset but might. Said Wade will likely be riding high off of the two early W's and on a "Friday Night in Chestnut Hill, anything can happen".
- Both said we would finish 4th or 5th in the division
- Strangely enough, both also said 8 or 9 wins (which if we get to nine wins and are fifth in the conference, I have to assume the ACC went undefeated in OOC play). So maybe higher than fourth or fifth? Who knows.
- One of the two guys said he's going to be there with Gino Toretta to call that game (BC/FSU) and was really looking forward to it, excited to see what Darius Wade can do and how the Eagles are going to look this year.
