Having reflected for a couple of days, I think the Fla St game boiled down to the differences in QB and their play.

They had an experienced and confident 5th year player who made just enough plays throwing and running the ball to score and/or move the chains just enough to control field position against a very good defense.

BC had an inexperienced young QB who looked a little hesitant to me (though I acknowledge the drop by #24 in the first half was a killer--may well have led to a tying score) and was unable to make plays against a very good defense.

If the QB's were switched I think BC wins 14-0 or 17-0.

If we had Murphy I think it goes either way 14-13.

We loved Murphy last year, but are paying for it now with lack of experience at QB spot. Fla St avoided same issues by bringing in VG for his 5th year.

That said, I also believe the Fla St defense was very good (#99 looked like a beast), and I expect the BC running game will perform better against others stating this week

Go BC!!
