Parkland 28, Nazareth 7 — Rapid Recap
The Parkland High School football teamcontinued its late-season roll with a 28-7 win Friday night over Nazareth in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference South Division game at Andrew Leh Stadium.
Ground control: The Trojans dominated the line of scrimmage, rolling up 337 rushing yards. Quarterback Devante Cross led the ground attack with 147 yards and a touchdown. Erik DiGirolamo added 131 yards and two rushing TDs.
Top performer: Cross and the Trojans defense. The Boston College recruit did most of his damage with his feet, but when he did throw the ball, he made it count. Cross completed 4 of 6 passes for 85 yards and a TD. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound two-way senior standout was also integral in shutting down Nazareth’s dynamic wide receiver duo of Jahan Dotson and Julian Liaci.
Cross was undeniably the best athlete on the field.
What it means: The Trojans look like they’ve righted the ship after their only loss of the season (41-34 to Liberty) in Week 5 and appear to be a solid favorite to capture a fourth straight district title in the coming weeks.
