yesterday clemson touted the groundbreaking of its new $55 million football facility. FIFTY FIVE MIL!
it seems most teams in the acc are on spending sprees re their athletic programs and facilities, all, sadly, except b.c., where the football stadium each week is packed with 25 thousand people disguised as empty seats. which necessarily begs the question: has the university cashed out? is b.c. simply taking the acc's money and running the other way? but perhaps the real question is this:: is b.c. now forever out of its league in the a.c.c., reduced to the role of bottom feeder in the two a.c.c. sports that generate the conference's big bucks? bottom line here: it's past time for el presidente to make a statement. where are we going -- and how are we going to get there?
