Sorry Guys, been a crazy work week, and didn't even get to see either mid-day game this week.

Wake heads to town this week.

Here is what to know about the Demon Deacons:

They are coming off a much needed sweep of Va Tech. After coming into the year the number 1 ranked team in the country, they struggled a bit. A few injuries, and some surprising P performances had people scratching their heads, but they may have turned a corner, and offer another huge ACC test for the hosting Birds.

Players to watch at the plate:
Nick Kurtz- A canidate to go 1-1, had a shoulder issue that forced him to miss some time, since he's been back, he's gone nuclear and hit like 10 HRs in 8 games.
Adam Tellier- A Ball St Gr Xfer, has provided a nice boost to an offense that lost a lot of key pieces. a Big 6'4 RHH slugger , has 13 steals to go along w his 19 xbhs.
Jack Winnay- MA native has produced in his first year as a starter. 13 HRs fuel a 1.211 OPS
Seaver King- D2 Xfer is projected 1st round pick. Had a great Cape and Team USA summer.
Jake Rienish- SR LHH hit .198 0 HRs last yr and now has 9 HRs and an OPS over a grand.

Their lineup is not as deep as year past, and has some swing and miss, but with Kurtz going the way he is, they are obviously a challenge.

Players to watch on the mound:
Chase Burns- Tennessee xfer is 97Ks in 50Ip, he's a top 10ish candidate, with arguably the most electric stuff in the country. The offense is in a bit of a funk, and there are moments when you can get to him, but I won't be shocked if we are looking at a similar 15K performance, like he had last Friday. (did yield 5 runs tho)
Josh Hartle- A projected 1st rounder coming into the year, but he has struggled. The stuff is still legit and someone that can shut anyone down when he's on.
Michael Massey- missed some time, and doesn't go deep in games, but big time stuff too.

Their pen is loaded with quality arms, the famous "wake pitching lab" will churn out good depth there year after year, so no point in singling out their 'pen beyond they are all quality.

We'll see how the Birds get up for this series, they got one last week, that was needed, and got a heck of a start from AJ on Sunday, but the O let him down. Need at least one this weekend.

Marathon Weekend!
