Did anyone watch the Arkansas/Louisiana Tech game yesterday? I wish we had a coach with balls, guts and confidence in his team like Bielema. Unlike Sdaz Bielema not once but twice in decided to go for it on 4th down in the 4th and late in the game.
The first situation Arkansas was down 20-14 inside the La Tech 10 and it was 4th and goal with about 6 minutes left in the game. Instead of going for 3 he went for it and Arkansas scored the go ahead TD.
Then, with about 1 minute left in the game and a chance to run out the clock Arkansas was facing 4th and inches from its own 37. Bielema elected to go for it instead of giving the ball back to LTech. Arkansas converted the 4th down and ran out the clock.
Albeit some what different situations the head coach showed confidence in his team! Not once but twice in two late game situations. He also showed confidence on his first year starting junior QB.
"You make the fourth-down decision looking to have success," Bielema said. "The last one, it's just a gut feel. I just had a feeling we were going to have a nice push, and it ended up sealing the game."
