I am at a complete loss... Hats off to the D for a fine year, especially given the base offense, but let's focus on offense:
the problem:
Is this a perfect storm of injuries, inexperience and untimely recruiting as per Daz? When we try to do something different, like pass, we have turnovers... I think the offense is repetitive and predictable, but what talent do we have to do something different? ( we can't pass and we cannot run block). Is Daz that bad a coach of players, an inept judge of talent among his players and a misguided manager of talent for his assistants on offense?
I cannot just say - Fire Daz because his first two seasons were above expectations. But this year was worst than what we imagined..
the problem:
- QBs who cannot pass (none, except Wade perhaps, has shown any ability to pass. Without Olline protection that is. Btu today when smith had time, his passes were way off
- WRs who cannot catch - I saw at least 3 drops, when finally, a ball was catchable...
- Oline who cannot block - at times, it was better today against the 119th defense but in general horrible. Even Montiero look stunned out there today and he seems the best of the frosh... i have never seen a Oline at BC so weak and constantly overpowered during this year.
- RBs who can at times run.
- Playcalling - seems horrible but what can you do when you cannot pass. In the first half, it seems every 1st down was up the middle for minus one yard
- Penalties - holding on several good plays, and easily avoidable illegal procedures in the 12th game of the year.
- bad talent, recruiting, inept game management - or all the above
- inexperience
- our best on offense were injured....
