For the first time in state history, a New Jersey football team will play overseas.
On Thursday, St. Peter’s Prep coach Rich Hansen informed NJ.com that he and his Marauders will pack their bags in early September and travel to Europe.
On Sept. 2, 2016, St. Peter’s Prep, the defending Non-Public, Group 4 sectional champions, will hit the gridiron in Dublin, Ireland, versus an opponent to be determined. Prep's opponent is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The Marauders will be traveling overseas to participate in a game that is an official event of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, which will be played at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sept. 3. Georgia Tech and Boston College will face off in that main event.
