Sorry this is a bit late getting up but wanted to again post Addazio's presser from earlier this week with notes for those interested....
*** "When you go on the road you gotta pack your defense, you gotta pack your run game..."
*** Emphasis on third down defense. "That's always an emphasis".
*** On the redshirt rule and Isaiah Duffie, Addazio says you can play four. Getting down to the point where he could play four and keep his redshirt.
*** UofL's quarterback situation: "There's an injury there...." Isn't sure who's hurt, who isn't hurt. They had a bye week. Hard to know what the deal is.
*** Tanner Karafa is fine, had cramps but he's good.
*** Thinking back on AJ Dillon's breakout game against Louisville (272 yards as a frosh in 2017). "That was a big day for him...." and "crashed onto the scene".
On why he had more success running outside last week, "you want to attack the field" when you put together a run game. Inside, off tackle, outside, have to tackle all quadrants. Were trying to spread it out.
*** Anthony Brown's confidence is high. He played "very very well". At halftime he was 14 of 16. Finished very strong. Overall completion percentage was "excellent" and made "really good decisions". On the first interception he'd like it back "but those things happen". Made some big plays and some "big, big throws".
*** Scouting Louisville: Addazio calls them "very athletic". Veteran players. Very impressed with what they've done. Staff has done "a fabulous job" fundamentally, with team discipline. They're playing fast, aggressive. They have quality players all over the field. Great athleticism and speed. Its a direct result of the HC and staff. They did a great job at App State. BC watched some App St film "and was like whoa". Well coached operation. "There was never a lack of talent there, now...That was never the case". QB is a dual-threat. Speed at tailback, receiver. Back end is extremely athletic, great space tacklers.
