I did some cutting and pasting below. I did this last year and did a similar analysis. I thought we are all getting tired of the "OT" stuff and this would give us something to talk about this time of year before we start getting some real news.

QBs

Darius Wade SO QB 6-0 204
Elijah Robinson FR QB 6-2 187
Troy Flutie SO QB 6-0 182
Jeff Smith ATH 6'0" 162

Darius Wade appears to have the inside track. He is very confident and throws a nice spiral which is suppose to be easy to catch. The coaching staff is going to have to let him throw the ball to maximize his ability. If BC insists on running the ball most of the time, one of the other QBs may ultimately replace Wade. I think Smith redshirts unless several of the other guys gets hurt.

About getting hurt, it is very likely that Wade gets stuffed at times against the likes of Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Louisville and Notre Dame due his inexperience and the new offensive line. At a moment’s notice, Robinson or Flutie is going to have to step in and make plays. Some people on this board have complained that we are playing an easy schedule. We are not playing an easy schedule.

WRs

Harrison Jackson SR WR 6-2 207
Sherman Alston SO WR 5-6 163
Bobby Swigert SR WR 6-0 199
Drew Barksdale JR WR 5-11 198
Nolan Borgersen FR WR 6-3 200
Charlie Callinan SO WR 6-4 224
Nat Dixon SO WR 6-3 185
Thadd Smith SO WR 5-9 175
David Dudeck SR WR 5-11 194
Chase Pankey WR 6'1" 165
Ben Glines ATH 6'1" 195

I will get some argument on this, but I think Callinan becomes the go to guy here with Alston, Dudeck and Jackson sharing the remaining load initially. Should Swigert be able to make it back, he could get some serious play as well. (Swigert was the team’s best receiver when healthy.) At the same time, it is a long season for receivers and running backs so don’t be surprised to see all of these players get a chance to show themselves during 2015. Remember, Borgerson enrolled last spring so he will likely get a chance to play if he is ready. I also think that Glines may come in ready to play so watch him as well.

TEs

Cameron Croteau JR TE 6-4 243
Austin Chapman SO TE 6-3 232
Louie Addazio SR TE 6-3 252.
Michael Giacone SR TE 6-5 254
Tommy Sweeney SO TE 6-5 246
Jake Burt TE 6'5" 230
Chris Garrison TE 6'4" 215

FBs

Bobby Wolford SR FB 6-2 248
Richard Wilson SO FB 5-10 224
Sean Burke SR FB 5-11 237
A.J. Caruso SR FB 6-1 234

I am analyzing TEs and FBs together. The staff is not very impressed with our tight ends so do not be surprised to see Burt and Garrison on the field by the middle of the season. I also think we may see a lot of fullback play with Wilson and Wolford both being pretty talented as receivers and as blockers. Our use of tight ends and Fullbacks has the potential to confuse and create mismatches with most teams going to three, four and five receiver formations more and more.

RBs

Jon Hilliman SO RB 6-0 224
Marcus Outlow SO RB 5-10 203
Myles Willis JR RB 5-9 194
Tyler Rouse JR RB 5-8
Jordan Gowins RB 5'11" 206

Hillman, Outlaw and Willis are all strong runners and potentially receivers if we start throwing to them out of the backfield. Rouse is also supposed to be good in this area. Without Murphy, we are going to have to show more creativity than last year at this position. Play calling is going to be much more important because Wade will not be able to bail out the offense with his feet on 3rd downs this year.

OLs

Frank Taylor SR C 6-3 289
Joel Rich JR C 6-3 282
James Hendren SO OL 6-7 293
Harris Williams GS OL 6-3 296
Ryan Conte SO OL 6-4 286
Austin Stevens SO OL 6-3 270
Jim Cashman SR OL 6-7 302
Sam Schmal SO OL 6-6 294
Dave Bowen SR OL 6-7 289
Chris Lindstrom FR OL 6-4 260
Jon Baker SO OL 6-3 293
John Phillips OL 6'6" 275
Aaron Monteiro OL 6'6" 308
Anthony Palazzolo OL 6'5" 330
Wyatt Knopfke OL 6'2" 265

I really like our recruiting class and would not be surprised to see several of them on the two deep by year’s end. The Florida State game could be pretty ugly before all the new starters start to gel. Obviously, Williams should be good at guard and Baker played their last year quite a bit. Frank Taylor has waited his turn at center. Between Cashman, Bowen, Hendren and Schmal, I hope two of these guys will distinguish themselves early at tackle. If not, one or two of the freshman may be starters sooner rather than later. By the way, watch Chris Lindstrom’s weigh upon returning to school this summer. If he comes back at over 270, he will at minimum be on the two deep. He enrolled last Spring and impressed the coaches despite his limited weight.
