Charlotte, N.C., is an area that BC assistant Al Washington has become familiar with as he's made his recruiting rounds.
BC, Duke and Wake have offered Deiuliis.
North Carolina may not be central to BC's overall recruiting strategy but it is a state the Eagles' current staff would like to target. To that end, Washington makes regular trips to the state during evaluation periods. Earlier this year he stopped off at Providence High School.
There, at Providence, is Drake Deiuliis. He's a Class of 2017 receiver and you can't miss him on the field. That's because he's 6-foot-6 and 204 pounds.
It's easy to imagine Deiuliis putting on a lot of weight over the next two, three or four years and ultimately ending up as a hybrid tight end. But for now he's a threat on the outside.
BC, Duke and Wake Forest have all offered Deiuliis and he spoke briefly with EagleAction.com about BC's involvement in his recruitment.
"The Boston College offer came (based on) the recruiter coming through (in the spring)," Deiuliis said. "I have not visited yet but I know they have a great academic history, a beautiful campus, a great city and a good program. I just haven't had a chance to visit yet."
Will that visit be happening?
"I think I'm going to visit, for sure," he said. "I just don't know when yet."
Washington had some nice praise for Deiuliis when he extended the offer.
"He just said I was a big-time athlete that could contribute there," he explained. "He likes that I have a good mentality and a good mindset - things along those lines."
Deiuliis camped at Wake Forest this summer and his offer from the Demon Deacon staff followed that event. He took an unofficial visit to Duke last week, and his offer from the Blue Devils came after that trip.
