I just re-watched the game. I know we've been over this, but its just so glaring. We WERE the better team. We have better talent almost to a man. Towles is going to be awesome for us. He had some timing issues, but that's because he's still very green with our guys. That will come. Tomorrow will help. But we were better than them. Never better than on the drive that we scored on - right before the drive that started with around 5:35 left on the clock.
And on that drive we called belly, gut, QB sneak. With over 5 minutes left. Yes, that's conservative. But really stew on that for a minute. In 2016 we have a HC sooooo conservative that he thinks he can bleed clock with over five minutes left. Over 1/12th of the game left.
But that's not the whole story. How utterly and mind-blowingly conservative is belly, gut, QB sneak?! I mean there's no way to be more conservative. The only way to out-conservative that would be to go into victory formation.
Steve Addazio is more conservative than Saban is good. That's how conservative he is.
