State of the program

First Alumni Stadium-very tired looking-upper end zone give away ticket to youth groups from RI/Ma/NH to try to fill it-if not move few season tickets holders down and mothball it-the Comm Ave end zone lower is filled with other school fans bring our few upper deck seasons down-concourse needs a complete overhaul-bathrooms upgrade-seatback all of Alumni it may bring capacity down to around 40 thousand but we are not exactly selling out now-the staircase narrowing by the locker room from upstairs Comm Ave side by gate E is a disaster waiting to happen-I have sat in PP for for over 30 years and now lower Comm ave end zone for awhile-the season season ticket base in both places have melted away-Haf-the QB situation with cadence-playbook issues should have been dealt with preseason if a move was a real possibility-bringing Morehead to the ACC media days now looks like Haf didn't see a change coming or he was simply hoping Morehead would work out-the recruiting has been less than stellar and not spread out among position groups-his staff hires have been a mess-penalties #1 in P-5-I wanted Haf to be ok-but he has lost me-bye-bye. Will BCU have Father L and BOT let him move on from a guy he didn't hire?

Halftime thoughts from an Air B&B in Jersey

1. I was so wrong about 9 wins
2. I was so wrong about the DB’s. The amount of wide open deep balls under a HC known as a DB guy is a huge problem
3. LB depth is impossible to overcome against ACC speed. Can’t tackle
4. Castellanos is still legit
5. Need more designed runs for him. Too much of him just standing in the pocket

Watching from Jersey for Pats tomorrow. Will try & post vids of postgame pressers bur I think we all know how that will go. Just a bad time for this program right now.

BC signed Nicholas Palamidis

7. A new member has joined the team.

As the Eagles try to build toward something special, they’ll have an added source of motivation.

BC on Monday signed Nicholas Palamidis, a resilient, charismatic, and inspiring 12-year-old battling a brain tumor. Palamidis joined the Eagles through Team IMPACT and expressed his gratitude in front of a packed house at the Yawkey Athletics Center.

“I’m going to do all my best to be with you guys and give you guys the same honor you guys are giving to me,” Palamidis said. “I’m very, very excited.”Nick

Castellanos

Most of the posts from the HC game have been extremely negative about the team and Hafley (with reason) but we forget Castellanos had an incredible game given it was the first start at the college level and that he has been with the team only 2 months. He was 17 for 23 for 201 yds. He has some very good throws.

I know it is "only Holy Cross" but nonetheless this is a great beginning. I do not know how he will do against Florida but I assume it will not be a pretty picture but his performance in the fist two games of the year should give us some hope of having a decent QB as he develops. I think as he gains more experience and works on his technique he could be a great performer. He needs to watch his emotions and mature but I imagine he must be excited to being taking a key role in the team in so short a time...

Hokies quarterback William "Pop" Watson suspended indefinitely

ACKSBURG — Virginia Tech freshman quarterback William “Pop” Watson was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules, Hokies coach Brent Pry announced Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, he won’t be with us this week,” said Pry, who did not disclose details of the violation.

Watson served as Kyron Drones’ backup last week at Rutgers with Grant Wells battling an ankle injury. The freshman entered the season as the Hokies’ No. 3 quarterback.

Freshman Dylan Wittke could potentially serve as Drones’ backup Saturday at Marshall. The quarterback depth chart will be determined on Wells’ health and availability.

Drones took the first-team snaps during the open portion of Wednesday’s practice.
“We’re still progressing. We’ll get all the way to kickoff with Grant, but we’ll have to get Dylan ready,” Pry said. “In fact, we’re getting Ben [Locklear] ready. We’ve got to be ready for whatever happens.”

“Hopefully Grant is good to go, and Dylan’s had a good two days,” Pry added. “That thing was pretty neck-and-neck when we went with Pop last week, so it’s a good opportunity for Dylan.
